Anybody checkin out these two spring 90 shows? 3/18 happened to be my 1st show...nice shakedown/rooster to open, solid versions of mexicali, little light, ramble on rose, and music never stopped. Second set has my fav version of iko and a nice morning dew to close. Next night I think is even better...bucket/bertha opener great all over now/deal closer. My fav of the these two shows though is the box/foolish/playin/eyes. I know these shows get overshadowed by Cap Center/Albany/Nassau but I think they are definately worth a listen - the whole spring 90' tour should be one big box set!

I went to the first night in Hartford. If memory serves (it rarely does anymore) they were announced "last minute" like the Hampton Warlock shows had been and there was much speculation and rumoring. So at the time I was less than impressed because my expectations had been so high. But as time has gone on I have come back to my senses and they really are some solid shows. Garcia's midi solo during Mexacali made it what has to be one of the happiest Mexacali's I have ever heard!

Do you remember a guy with a very over-produced, psychedelic-looking, swirly "I Need A Ticket!" sign at that show?

Also, as the for the whole spring tour being a box set... I agree it was a high point of that time period and I think the band agrees as so many official releases have come out of that period.

It is funny commenting on a good mexicali huh? I don't remember seeing that guy... but I do remember reading in deadbase reviews about the confusing tix sales. My college roomate score the tix for us (behind the stage). I couldn't help but thinking to myself "I think every seat is filled in this place". Had never been to a concert were people were behind the stage!

"that guy" with the sing was me. It was one of the very few times I ever went to a show without a ticket (I have always tried to honor the bands wishes on that one). I brought it up because I spent hours and hours making that sign in a program that predates Photoshop by decades. I got a lot of comments on the sign.

Yeah, that was "sold out" beyond sold out. After '87 it was never the same again getting tickets. I remember being able to get tickets for '84 Hartford the day before the show from my local "TICKETRON" (remember those guys?)

I went to brendan byrne 10/14/89 - no ticket in hand and left very very disapointed (probably a dumb idea for a saturday night show) - i vowed never again - and never did - for me...having a ticket was a must - looking for tix was too stressful for me!

maybe it was a good year for that tune ( mexicali )because the 12-31-90 version is killer

I just listened to the 3-19-77 a couple of days ago so I'm checking this one out today. For years I thought Jerry's Midi at the end of Eyes was Phil playing a Jaco or fretless sounding ( i know he didnt play fretless ) bass.

Great 2 night run and brent is really on, like much of the spring tour. If I'm not mistaken this could be the last "fast tempo" Eyes of The world the band played
